Mom got an email today shedding some light to her assignment in Plovdiv. So far, all she knew was that she'd be working at the English Language High-School in Plovdiv. Now she found out that she will be helping with 9th and 10th grade History and Literature classes, focusing on various topics, namely comparing & contrasting Greek, Bulgarian & American celebrations, customs & traditions, stereotypes, lifestyles, tourism, theater, etc.
This is great news, since, if you know my mom, you'll probably know how passionate she gets about such topics. Truth is, she frightens me some times. I hope she doesn't get in trouble!
Mom will also be putting her background as a librarian to work. She will be helping students with their research and creative writing projects, i.e. writing all sorts of essays like college applications, SAT, TOEFL, IELTS writing pieces, personal statements, you name it.
The email also mentioned an educational project whose final stage may take her,a group of students and a body of history and English language teachers to field trips to historical places. Isn't that great? I love field trips! I wonder how they feel about dogs joining the field trip, though...
