The hardest 'Good Bye'

Today mom had to say 'good bye' (or 'see you next year') to her colleagues at the library. This was the hardest part for her. I think one reason mom stayed so long at this job is that she liked her colleagues so much. "Getting up in the morning and not bitching about going to work is priceless", she says.

As far as I'm concerned, I won't miss anyone too much (as long as I have new dog-butts to sniff), but I must say that these people have been great to me. Every time I needed special care (and there have been a few in my life), after surgeries, during heat-waves and whatnot, mom's colleagues not only did not complaint, but they were even glad to have me around. This was the best treatment I ever got in mom's working places. It was great for me to be around and for her to not worry about me.

Even though it's for just one year, she'll miss them a lot. And with her, so will I...
