NY baby!

I have the wickest mom ever. On Saturday she took me hiking. Little did I know, she was preparing the ground for leaving me behind, once again. She is good: she even took Molly hiking to keep me distracted (Molly is getting close to being in heat again - you can see me in the video below pursuing her relentlessly). She coordinated her escape with our neighbors who also have a dog, Zoe, and left me on the porch with them. Before I knew it, she was gone.

Mom went to visit her friend Linda who is now in NY. Linda lives in Brooklyn, Nostrand area, and mom took the Bolt bus and then the subway to get there. Coming out of the subway, the neighborhood was reminiscent of scenery from "The Wire". Luckily for her, mom loves such neighborhoods, and in spite of the 'color contrast', she feels very comfortable.

Arriving to Linda's place, mom was impressed by the little garden with mint, tomatoes, and sunflower plants. The next surprise was the roof - more tomatoes, a compost, a "wormery", and - seriously - beehives. The final straw, though, was the chickens in the backyard. That just made mom green with envy.

The best part of this, of course, was seeing Linda again. Not even the all-milonga later in the night managed to beat that excitement.

Now, does this justify leaving me behind? Of course not. But, I'll live. And with a bone or two, the wound in my memory might - just might - heal...
