Fishy affairs

Mom belongs to a dog-food co-op, or rather, a group of weirdos just like her, who are into feeding their dogs "reasonably priced, high-quality raw food". The co-op works on a volunteer basis, with members taking on a task twice a year. As soon as we came back, mom contacted the group to get supplies for my majesty, and discovered that the group had been experiencing some problems with not enough volunteers for all deliveries, the fish delivery being one example.

Seeing as she did that the fish supplier is located in Philadelphia (as opposed to other suppliers who are too far from where we live and therefore inconvenient) mom took the opportunity to fill one of her required tasks. She took everyone's order, a lengthy process in itself (having to get price lists, share with co-op members, mediate between the group and the supplier, etc), and on Saturday she went to make the delivery.

The order was nearly 400lbs. That's 400lbs of fish. 400lbs of fish that went into mom's semi-wagon. 400lbs of fish that came in cardboard boxes with ice. Ice which of course melted by the time got to the delivery point. The result? A car soaked in fish water. In summery, hurricane expecting, sauna-humid Philadelphia. Sweet.

Mom took out and washed everything she could - car seat covers, sheets, everything. Needless to say, with little success at getting the fish smell off. Nevertheless, it was totally worth it. We got 30lbs of fish at a great price, and even though I didn't get any yet (mom decided that she deserved to try some before me and I, being so benevolent, I let her), I can assure it was worth all the trouble! (now, mom may have a different opinion, but that's her problem...)

You know how i feel about the smell of meet and fish. [Βιολογικό καθαρισμό δεν έχετε εκεί για τα αυτοκίνητα?].

ha. No dear, no eco-friendly car-cleaning around here. Not that this would help with the smell anyway. First priority is to finally get the seats dry, which is a challenge in a 75% humidity environment. Oh well. But no worries, if you visit, we'll rent a limo to take you around ;)

Perhaps Sifounas would not have been so generous, if it was good catfish. Anyway, great to hear the car is cleaned. Take care.
