Health issues abound

Maybe it's just mom's age, but it does feel like everybody around us has some health problem or other. Kostas is still struggling with various tests, mom's friend S. in Thessaloniki just had an operation, and mom herself just got yet another cold, identical to those in Bulgaria. Swell.

Mom had been treated for pneumonia just last June. What do you know, not even 3 months later, same thing. Wheezing, sneezing, then coughing, lots of coughing. Oh, and cursing, of course, lots of that, too. Only now, she's in the US, after one year, during which her primary doctor left the practice, so she had to get a new doctor. As a new patient, the next available appointment is January 20th. Quite different from walking into a student's parents' office with an x-ray in hand, I'd say. She'll need some time to adjust, I'm sure. Or maybe the reform promised by the human pack leader will take place, after all.

Of course, I could not stay out of this mix, so I decided to get some stomach/bowel problems of my own during the weekend. No, I am not becoming incontinent again! It was just a fluke, ok? A TEMPORARY thing!

On a brighter note, mom felt good enough to take me hiking both on Sunday and Monday morning. Just by myself, unfortunately, since Molly or Pepe's mom wouldn't join us because mom was on quarantine...I still enjoyed myself nevertheless. And as a special treat, we got invited to Anne and Amy's on Monday afternoon. I was nervous as I always am when we go for a visit (I always think that mom will leave me there) but mom had a blast - great company - and I got some fish leftovers which made the wait worthwhile. Yay for long weekends, great friends, and hopefully, away from hospitals or vets!
