Yesterday two officers from the Bulgarian immigration service came to school looking for mom. They said that "there is a problem of address" and that according to the law mom has to go to the immigration office again in order to declare her change of address.
In case you are wondering, it is NOT the case that the Bulgarian INS is all too diligent and goes out tracking illegal immigrants and investigating their change of address two days before Christmas.
In any case, mom went to the police station this morning, only to be told what she already had been told, that is that she had to re-submit all the documents and get a new I.D. So she paid 1 lev for the new forms, which she was not allowed to fill, because of course the new contract has to be notarized, etc. etc.
So for those of you who were really sad to see the I.D. saga come to an end, fear not: there will be a sequel!
