More ground-breaking news: We have a working washing machine and heat in the living room! After lots of back and forth between mom, the landlady and poor Goldie who acted as an interpreter, last night we had a parade of neighbors who came to help with the heat. One of them checked the valves - no problem there. The other one opened the taps to let the air out of the system. There surely was a lot of air in there! After the air got out, there was still no difference, so mom went to bed with several layers of clothes as usual.
Also as usual, I woke her up at 2am to take me out. Needless to say, when this happens she barely manages to sleep-walk me with one eye shot, so the last thing on her mind was to check the radiators. We came back, and I mercifully let her sleep till 9am. Then we woke up to a great surprise - the living room nice and toasty!
To celebrate, mom started doing laundry like crazy. Fortunately I was there to remind her that she finally had to take some pictures of the apartment, as promised, so here they are. Enjoy!
